SNOW STUCK 1. Jerry Yester and Judy Henske - Snowblind (3:05) SNOW #1 2. Howlin' Wolf - Moanin' at Midnight (2:57) STUCK #1 "Welcome to Tea-Time on your local station, Ellensburg Community Radio. I'm your host for the next two hours and my name is Paul Dunn and I will bring you a varied selection of tunes from my ever growing record collection. Most of this Tea-Time was selected while I sat in my lorry in a snow drift in the hills of South Cle Elum while waiting hours for a tow truck, hence we started off with Snowblind from 1969 by Jerry Yester and Judy Henske. Then we had Mr. Chester Burnett who you probably know better as Howlin' Wolf with Moanin' at Midnight. So Friday was Groundhog Day, therefore there was only one song I could play." 3. Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe (3:14) SNOW #2 4. Talking Heads - Uh-Oh, Love Comes To Town (2:50) STUCK #2 "That was the Talking Heads with Uh-Oh, Love Comes To Town. So today is Superbowl Sunday and we're gonna have our own little musical Superbowl. First up are the Delfonics from Philadelphia who will be representing the Eagles with La La Means I Love You. Then from Boston are The Pixies representing the Patriots with La La Love You. Ok let's kick off." 5. Delfonics - La La Means I Love You (3:21) SNOW #3 6. Pixies - La La Love You (2:44) STUCK #3 "So who do you think won our little musical Superbowl? You can let me know by going to eburgradio.org and posting on our message board and while there have a look around the site, check out other shows. It's not all music, there are shows like Town Talk on Tuesdays and Dr. John's Radio Show on Fridays. Next we have Manfred Mann's third incarnation, Chapter Three with a great tune called One Way Glass." 7. Manfred Mann Chapter Three - One Way Glass (3:31) SNOW #4 8. Morcheeba - The Sea (5:48) STUCK #4 "Morcheeba with the song The Sea which always reminds me of being a kid on holiday by the seaside with an ice cream. The Rolling Stones are 2000 Light Years from Home, which is what this Englishman felt stuck in a snowdrift in the hills of South Cle Elum this week." 9. The Rolling Stones - 2000 Light Years From Home (4:46) SNOW #5 10. Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 - For What It's Worth (3:41) STUCK #5 "Sergio Mendes and Brasil sixty six covering Buffalo Springfield's For What It's Worth. Here's Nina Simone's version of Aretha Franklin's Save Me." 11. Nina Simone - Save Me (3:23) SNOW #6 12. The Ananda Shankar Experience and State of Bengal - Streets of Calcutta (Live) (4:39) STUCK #6 "The Ananda Shankar Experience and State of Bengal with a live version of Streets of Calcutta. Now to DJ Shadow with I've Been Trying." 13. DJ Shadow - I've Been Trying (3:04) SNOW #7 14. Julian Cope - Sunspots (3:30) STUCK #7 "That was the great Julian Cope with his song Sunspots. You are listening to Tea-Time on Ellensburg Community Radio. If you have an idea for a show or like me just want to share music you enjoy, go to eburgradio.org and click the Get Involved tag. Trust me it's fun. Time for a bit of surf music from the Chantays who are riding the Pipeline." 15. Chantays - Pipeline (2:22) SNOW #8 16. Elvis Presley - Mystery Train (2:29) STUCK #8 "There was Elvis Presley riding the Mystery Train. If you miss the train, you can always go to Beck and get a Rental Car." 17. Beck - Rental Car (3:06) SNOW #9 18. John Barry & His Orchestra - The Knack (2:54) STUCK #9 "That was John Barry's theme to the 1965 British comedy film, The Knack and How To Get It. From the Billion Dollar Babies album, here is one of my favourite Alice Cooper tracks, Generation Landslide." 19. Alice Cooper - Generation Landslide (4:31) SNOW #10 20. The Clash - Capitol Radio Two (3:21) STUCK #10 "That was The Clash having another go at the music industry with Capitol Radio Two. Now to The Kid from Red Bank, New Jersey, here is Count Basie." 21. Count Basie - The Kid From Red Bank (2:41) SNOW #11 22. Eddie Floyd - Big Bird (3:01) STUCK #11 "That was Eddie Floyd's tribute to his mate Otis Redding, whose nickname was Big Bird. Speaking of Big Birds, check out on Mondays, the veterinary Rodeo Doc call in show, Canaries to Clydesdales, whatever they are. Maybe I need to listen. You can get the lowdown of this and many other great shows on eburgradio.org. Let's have a bit of classic rockabilly from Johnny Powers with the tune Long Blond Hair, Red Rose Lips." 23. Johnny Powers With The Band Of Stan Getz & Tom Cats - Long Blond Hair, Red Rose Lips (2:15) SNOW #12 24. Loretta Lynn and Jack White - Portland, Oregon (3:50) STUCK #12 "That was Portland, Oregan by Loretta Lynn from the 2004 Jack White produced album Van Lear Rose. If you liked the sound of that song, definitely seek the album, it is one of the good 'uns. Another good album is blues player Albert King's 1967 Stax album, Born Under A Bad Sign and here is the lead track." 25. Albert King - Born Under A Bad Sign (3:22) SNOW #13 26. Gene Clark - No Other (5:09) STUCK #13 "Ex Byrd Gene Clark with the track No Other, from the 1974 album of the same name which was a complete commercial failure but I think it's a great song and deserves rediscovery. Before I moved here, me and my missus spent a year living on the east coast of England in a place called Winterton-On-Sea and this next song, At The River by Groove Armada, was our theme song." 27. Groove Armada - At The River (Radio Edit) (3:04) SNOW #14 28. Linda Perhacs - Parallelograms (4:34) STUCK #14 "That was Linda Perhacs, a dental hygienist who recorded that song and the corresponding album in 1970 to scant notice and sales meaning she couldn't give up her day job. Around 1998, the album was rediscovered by psych and folk enthusiasts which in turn led to her being able to record a follow up album in 2014, 44 years after the first. Never give up on your dreams. Just look at seventies Jamaican reggae artist Horace Andy who had a second bite of the cherry by being invited to join Massive Attack in the nineties. We are going back to 1972 though and Skylarking." 29. Horace Andy - Skylarking (2:54) SNOW #15 30. The Andrew Oldham Orchestra - The Last Time (3:47) STUCK #15 "Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham capitalising on royalties by releasing orchestrared versions of Stones songs like The Last Time, which you just heard. That version made even more money for The Stones when it was sampled by The Verve on the song Bitter Sweet Symphony. Now to Shorty Long who is having a bit of trouble with a Devil With A Blue Dress on." 31. Shorty Long - Devil With A Blue Dress (3:15) SNOW #16 32. Wilson Pickett - Born To Be Wild (2:47) STUCK #16 "I do enjoy a good soul cover of a rock song and Wilson Pickett's version of Born To Be Wild is one of the best. We are at the end of another Tea-Time. I hope you enjoyed my selection and will join me next week for more of the same by being different. In the meantime you have a whole week of excellent shows to enjoy on Ellensburg Community Radio so be sure and check out eburgradio.org. We are going to leave you with Tender by the band Blur, so pour that last cuppa from the pot and enjoy."
