Unveiling the Digital Realm: The 13th Curator of Sphaera Memoria
In the world of Sphaera Memoria, a unique online exhibition space, there exists a mysterious 13th curator who resides solely in the digital realm. This curator, shrouded in intrigue, adds an ethereal touch to the already captivating collection of researchers' curated liminal spaces.
Sphaera Memoria, a platform born out of a museum studies course at Heritage University in Toppenish, WA, offers researchers the opportunity to curate their own personal biographies, photos, and additional content. From music links to documentaries and digital representations of artwork, each researcher has their own dedicated page within this virtual exhibition.
The physical world component of Sphaera Memoria features 12 photo frames, each adorned with a unique QR code. These QR codes serve as portals, transporting visitors to specific curator’s page online. However, it is the 13th curator that sets itself apart, existing solely in the digital realm, adding an element of mystery and intrigue to the overall experience.
The project's primary focus is not on monetization or promotion but rather on the blending of online and offline exhibition realities. Sphaera Memoria aims to provide a praxis, a practical application, for researchers to explore the possibilities of merging the digital and physical worlds in the realm of exhibitions.
